Recreational marijuana may be headed back to the ballot in Arizona

Arizona Recreational Marijuana Ballot

[The Safer Arizona Cannabis Legalization Political Action Committee] has filed paperwork with the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office to begin collecting signatures to get recreational marijuana on the November 2018 ballot. It would need to collect 156,042 signatures from valid Arizona voters by July 5, 2018, to qualify.

While Arizona marijuana dispensary operators have clearly showed competency and willingness to provide marijuana safely to AZ residents, it is unlikely they will fund this campaign. A similar 2016 campaign ran by MPP, solicited donations mostly from Medical Marijuana Dispensary Owners and Investors. The campaign barely failed.

Considering the disappointment in turn out of supporting voters in this past presidential election, most feel their money will be better spent in 2020.

Lets hope the Trump Administration allows states, like Arizona, to continue to administer their own marijuana policies.
