Medical Marijuana in New Mexico

The Medical Cannabis Program was created under the Lynn and Erin Compassionate Use Act. The purpose of this Act is to allow the beneficial use of medical marijuana to New Mexico residents in a regulated system to alleviate symptoms caused by debilitating medical conditions and their medical treatments. The state requires seed to sale tracking and uses BioTracks Traceability System.

Who Oversees the Medical Program in New Mexico?

The Cannabis Control Division will administer the Cannabis Regulation Act and the licensing and regulatory provisions of the Medical Cannabis Program that was created by the Lynn and Erin Compassion Use Act (LECUA). The Medical Cannabis Program patient registry will continue to be maintained by the Department of Health.
