On November 4, 2014, Alaska voted to legalize the possession, consumption, cultivation, and recreational sale of marijuana by passing Measure 2. Just like liquor, adults 21 and over can possess, consume, and purchase products from a recreational marijuana store. Adults are allowed to possess one ounce (28 grams) of marijuana at a given time. Adults can grow and possess up to 6 plants in your home. No more than 3 plants may be flowering or mature and must be kept private, away from public view in a secure place. Yes, it is legal to share weed amongst friends, but all recreational cannabis must be consumed in state.
